1. Who We Are

Tipino is a platform that enables music fans to support artists fairly.
Users subscribe to a monthly plan, connect their Spotify account, and we calculate how their listening time translates into payments for eligible artists.
We handle all data with care and transparency and only collect what is necessary to provide this service.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect data directly from users when they register or use Tipino. This includes:

Account Data

• Name and Nickname
• Email address
• Country of residence
• Time zone (automatically suggested, editable by the user)
• Last login date
• Subscription details and selected plan
• Referral connections (if you invited or were invited by someone)

Spotify Data (only with your explicit consent via Connect to Spotify)

• Spotify user ID and display name
• OAuth refresh and access tokens (encrypted)
• Listening history and playlist data
• Associated track, album, and artist metadata (names, IDs, images, durations, genres)

Payment Data

• Subscription amount, billing history, and successful or failed payments
• Data transmitted to and from Stripe, our payment provider (Tipino does not have access to credit card numbers)
• Internal payout calculations for how much of your contribution is distributed to artists

Analytics and Technical Data

• IP address and browser user agent (for security and spam prevention)
• Cookies (functional and consent-based analytics)
• Aggregated usage statistics, collected anonymously

We do not sell or rent personal data. We only use your information to deliver Tipino’s service and improve it responsibly.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

1. Operate and maintain your Tipino account
2. Calculate monthly artist payouts based on your listening activity
3. Process payments through Stripe
4. Send system notifications (service updates, Terms of Service changes)
5. Send optional newsletters and community updates (with your consent)
6. Generate anonymous statistics to improve fairness and platform stability

4. How We Store and Protect Your Data

• All data is hosted securely in Switzerland on CYON servers.
• We apply strict access control, encryption (at rest and in transit), and regular security audits.
• Only authorised staff or processors with signed confidentiality agreements can access user data.
• We retain personal data as long as your account exists, and as required by law for bookkeeping.
• When you delete your account, all personal information is removed.
  Playlist and listening data are anonymised for statistical purposes and can no longer be linked to you.

5. Your Rights

Under the EU GDPR and the Swiss Data Protection Act (revDSG), you have the following rights:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate or outdated information
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Restrict or object to data processing
• Request a copy (data portability)

6. Sharing Data with Third Parties

We only share data where necessary to operate the service:

We do not disclose personal data to other third parties, advertisers, or affiliates.
We may share anonymised, aggregated insights (e.g., platform statistics) that cannot identify individuals.

7. Cookies and Tracking

Tipino uses cookies for essential functionality and optional analytics.
You can manage or revoke cookie consent anytime.
Cookies are used to:

• Keep you logged in
• Store display preferences
• Analyse site usage (with anonymised IPs)
• Support limited marketing efforts (e.g., Google Pixel, Facebook Pixel)

We never use cookies to store sensitive personal data.

8. Newsletters

If you opt in to receive our newsletter, your name and email address will be processed by Drip, our email service provider.
You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in each email.
Mandatory system messages (e.g., billing updates, terms changes) are sent regardless of your subscription preferences.

9. Payments and Financial Data

Payments are processed exclusively through Stripe.
Tipino never stores or has access to your full payment details.

We keep internal transaction references, payout amounts, and artist distribution records to fulfil our service and legal obligations.

10. Data Retention

We keep your data only for as long as necessary:

• Account data: until your account is deleted
• Payment and transaction data: up to 10 years (as required by Swiss accounting law)
• Anonymised statistics: indefinitely (non-personal)

11. International Access

Tipino is operated under Swiss law but may be accessed globally.
Data transfers from the EU to Switzerland are recognised as compliant with the EU Commission’s adequacy decision.

12. Third-Party Services Disclaimer

Tipino relies on external services like Spotify and Stripe.
We cannot guarantee their availability or data completeness.
Each provider’s terms and privacy policies apply independently.

13. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from your Tipino profile or by emailing us.
Upon deletion:

• All personal and identifiable data are erased
• Spotify connections are revoked
• Playlist and payout records are anonymised
• Legal or financial data may remain for mandatory retention periods only

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect operational or legal changes.
All updates are published on this page, and significant changes will be communicated by email.
Continued use of Tipino after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
